We added the 1,000th blog to the pfblogs.org aggregator today. Wow, the blogosphere, and the personal finance niche in particular, has certainly expanded in the past two years. There are some new features that I’ve been working on, and some already exist that you may not know about. For example, you can use the RSS tools built into WordPress to publish a list of the top popular articles on your blog. This is already implemented on FiveCentNickel (on the center bottom of every page) and Consumerism Commentary (on the bottom of the right column of every page).
You don’t have to be a Friend of pfblogs.org in order to take add this feature to your blog. For example, to pull the most popular personal finance articles into your blog, use the URL http://pfblogs.org/pf/pop/feed/ with your RSS tools. The links on these feeds are redirected through pfblogs.org so we can count any visitors towards an article’s popularity ranking.

What plugins are being used to insert the feed into the page’s content? I use WordPress and there are several listed on the codex.wordpress.org site, but I’d love to know what these sites are using.

I have just added to the lsit with my latest blog - http://www.savingtoinvest.com! pfblog.org has been a great source of traffic for my other blogs! Excellent site.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to carry blogs that do not display properly on normally-configured browsers.
I am a huge fan of pfblogs.org and check in regularly. It is, bar none, my favorite site for PF blogs.
Got a question for ya: I recently switched my blog to its own domain (from gradgirl.wordpress.com to http://www.thiswriterswallet.com) and haven’t been able to get the change request through.

I don’t know where else to send this comment, but the past few times I’ve visited pfblogs.org, only the “Friends of Pfblogs” posts are making it on the front page. Perhaps from the “new feature” that offers pinging? Or maybe something else, i’m really not sure, i just know what I am seeing.
I like to come to this site to click on articles by new bloggers. Most established blogs have paid subscriptions, and i already have subscribed (or decided I do not want to subscribe). I understand the desire to have a profit (or maintain the site), but I don’t like unpaid members being pushed off the main page.

There was a bug for the last day or so that was listing only Friends of pfblogs.org… but your comment and a few emails brought this to my attention. The problem has been fixed and within the next few minutes you should see things return to normal.
