One Week Left for $10/year Memberships

Posted on Thursday 25 May 2006

Update: Click here to become a Friend of pfblogs.org.

On June 1, pfblogs.org will be switching to a new membership scheme for those who wish to be Friends of pfblogs.org and receive all the benefits that entails (and there are always more in store). Here are two deadlines for you to remember:

May 28: This is the last day for the free two months membership for including the pfblogs.org Blogroll (and letting us know in the comments).

May 31: This is the last day for obtaining a one-year membership for $10.

We will be moving to a system that is mainly based on monthly subscriptions, but you will also be able to donate a flat fee to receive year-long memberships. Pfblogs.org has grown quite large, with no signs of slowing as the community continues to prosper, and in order to continue running a stable website we’ll need to procure a dedicated server soon.

Please understand why these changes are being made. We believe we pfblogs.org is a valuable service, but we don’t want to add advertising, making money off of the community’s contributions. A voluntary contribution from those who benefit or enjoy the service is the only ethical way to go. We will not betray your trust by adding advertising later.

Additionally, here’s another piece of news. I’ve been talking to an excellent designer who may work on a couple of concepts for redesigning pfblogs.org. When the website suddenly looks amazing, it will be thanks to her.

Speaking of thanks, thank you to all bloggers who have made the personal finance blogging community most excellent (and especially to all who have embraced pfblogs.org).
